SB Skills Solutions Ltd is dedicated to delivering high-quality training to 50 construction trainees in trade skills. Training is delivered through four recognised accreditation routes: CPCS and NPORS for small plant operations, CABWI for New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) training, and FAA for First Aid at Work.
Both plant accreditations are widely accepted across the construction sector, with CABWI being the key awarding organisation for NRSWA qualifications. SB Skills Solutions Ltd is fully accredited and has extensive experience delivering all four qualifications.
Role overview – Streetworks Operative
Streetworks operatives carry out excavation and reinstatement works on public highways in line with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA). They are responsible for setting up safe work zones, including signing, lighting, and guarding, as well as locating and protecting underground services.
The role involves excavating and backfilling correctly, reinstating surfaces to the required standards, and working safely in traffic-managed environments. Streetworks is a safety-critical role requiring consistent compliance with traffic management rules, risk assessments, and accredited competence (typically NRSWA units), supported by appropriate PPE and strong site discipline.
