SB Skills Solutions Ltd is dedicated to delivering high-quality training to construction trainees in Construction Plant & Civils. This training is offered through two recognised accreditation routes: CPCS and NPORS. Both accreditations are widely accepted across the construction sector, and SB Skills Solutions Ltd is fully accredited, with extensive experience in delivering both qualifications.
Role overview – Plant Operator
Plant Operators safely operate and maintain construction plant and equipment to support site operations, productivity, and compliance. They carry out pre-use checks, follow method statements and lifting / operating plans, and use plant controls competently to excavate, lift, move, grade, or compact materials while maintaining exclusion zones and clear communication with banksmen and site teams.
They monitor ground conditions and hazards, report defects promptly, complete basic routine maintenance, and keep accurate daily records. Working to CPCS / NPORS and site rules, Plant Operators prioritise health and safety, protect the public and environment, and contribute to the efficient delivery of works to programme and quality standards.
Our pathways centre around either Excavator or Telehandler as the main plant, with wraparound courses designed to complement the core plant offer.
